I don't fear God

I don't fear God
It's the people who created him that scare me
You can buy this bumper sticker here.
Historical note: I posted this photo some time ago and then Veracium went under taking my post with it. Now that the site is back up, I am posting this here again.

Offensive
I find this deeply offensive. What has the Christians done to you to hate them so much?
If you look at recent history, the ones to fear are the atheists.
Hitler - Responsible for millions of deaths - Atheist
Stalin - Responsible for millions of deaths - Atheist
Mao - Responsible for millions of deaths - Atheist
In contrast Christians have done nothing but good for this world. Even when we're being attacked for our faith by atheists and people of other religions, we have shown nothing but love towards them.
When Muslims massacred 3,000 Christians on 9/11, we did not go around killing people of the Islamic faith out of revenge. We have even elected as our President a man who grew up as a Muslim, has Muslim father, and a Muslim middle name.
I don't fear atheists. It's your intolerance of other religions that scare me.
Pfft...

Sorry dude, but using a wikipedia article as your citation is a bit retarded.
ok ill dumb it down for you....
""According to historian Richard Steigmann-Gall, much is known about Hitler's views on religion through Hitler's book, Mein Kampf.[14] In Mein Kampf, Hitler wrote neither as an atheist, an agnostic, nor as a believer in a remote, rationalist divinity. Instead he expressed his belief in one providential, active, deity:
"What we must fight for is to safeguard the existence and the reproduction of our race...so that our people may mature for the fulfillment of the mission allotted it by the creator of the universe...Peoples that bastardize themselves, or let themselves be bastardized, sin against the will of eternal Providence."[14]
In an attempt to justify Nazi intolerance he recommends militantism, which he associates with Christianity's rise to Roman state religion, as a model for the Nazis in their pursuit of power, while simultaneously lamenting the demise of Pre-Christian Roman Religion,""
Wiki has a wealth of knowlage, you might want to read somthing that is not 2000 years old for a change.
Yeah, using NOTHING, like the
Yeah, using NOTHING, like the guy who said hitler was an atheist, thats the way to go.
Its ad hominem anyway, and if indeed stalin was an atheist, its not like he killed people in the name of atheism, unlike christians or muslims.
I don't hate them. I hate the
I don't hate them. I hate the religion. It's a disgrace to man kind that we have to believe in an invisible being because we don't want to get off our ass and research a better possible explanation for it all.
Even worse
Christianity has been holding back the progress of our civilizations for two millennia. Can you imagine how advanced humanity would be today if the Catholic church didn't willfully stifle all forms of science?
Cry more.
Cry more.
...derp?
Hitler, Stalin and Mao were also men. Obviously men are therefore evil. Oh! They're also non-American, so clearly non-Americans are evil too.
Really, all they prove is that atheism isn't sufficient to make a good person. Which is totally reasonable; no belief/unbelief system is.
The "Hitler, Stalin, Mao were atheists" argument is the worst bit of post-hoc-ergo-proptor-hoc reasoning I've ever heard. If you look at those parts of history, what should catch your attention is that these were all totalitarian governments where all the power was held by exceptionally few individuals with no accountability. That they were also atheists is as incidental as if they'd all had the same hair colour.
You don't make a strong argument by pointing out that a small handful of individuals with a specific trait did nasty things; at very least you need to show that it's a significant percentage of all people with that trait, and to really make a good argument you need to show WHY that trait causes the nastiness. There are all sorts of ways to show why Christianity causes bad things to happen; atheism, not so much.
As to the claim that Christianity is all happiness and smiles and never does so much as step on a cat's tail; that's just ignorant bullshit. In case you hadn't heard, your beloved priests happen to have an unhealthy fondness for little boys. Also Fred Phelps: checkmate.
Lovely having this conversation with you; any objections can be mailed to the office of Do Some Damn Research Beofre Making an Idiotic Claim™.

If you find this offensive
Take offense to it. Normal people find it offensive when religious ones shove their religion on our faces but we don't say anything right?
Similarly, either stop coming here or swallow the bitter pill.
If my post is alos offensive, I can't do anything.
I find it rather telling that
I find it rather telling that you have said "Christians", even though the bumper sticker in question says absolutely /nothing/ to imply that this man was indeed talking about your particular magical invisible sky-man. I guess it hints towards your self-centered view of the world.
Before I start off, I must tell you that I am not a staunch gnostic atheist, nor do I "believe in no god", as much as I believe in no invisible pink unicorn. "Atheism" is a BROAD description. The "new movement" of "new atheism" is actually more better described as "rationalism" or "secular humanism"
Now, first off, you have forgotten quite a few atheist dictators. Particularly Pol Pot, Mussolini, Castro, amongst many other vile, vile people. (Fun fact - Mao, a staunch atheist, murdered more than all those other dictators put together.)
Because some types of buddhism and also other religions are technically "atheistic", there are also other ethnic massacres carried out to be accounted for.
The total body count, I believe, may be about 200 million people, perhaps even more than that, in the name of communism, nazism, maoism, whatever we're calling it.
It's strange once you realise that this isn't in the name of atheism at all. They are committed for reasons /other than religion/, and that's why apologetics seem so keen to immediately latch onto it.
However, I must tell you that even if they all killed explicitly in the name of lack of belief in fairies or leprechauns or donkeys with green moustaches (or perhaps god), The amount of people killed for religious reasons, or explicity in the name of a fairy sky-god(s), is also obscenely high.
Consider these wars/massacres, where the difference between opposing sides was religion, and only religion.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_war
Combined with religious atrocities and massacres, such as the Inquisition, and you have a very grim picture of religion.
The total number comes up to about 800 million people (and that's being generous. Adjusted for technology and population growth, and the number grows ridiculously higher.).
But aren't we being unfair, comparing a timeframe of 70 years to around 2000?
Note that this isn't even counting all the AIDS deaths caused by the denialism of the Catholic Church, the countless and endless diseases that could have been cured earlier had we not been held down by religious dogma such as your own, the executions and mercy killings in the name of religion in various middle eastern countries, and many, many others.
And before you even BOTHER to mention it...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_true_Scotsman
Christianity held down science, and the very progress of humanity by 700 years. The skepticism and rational inquiry given into the concept of a god is the same skepticism and rational inquiry that holds up science, and also is the reason why the life expectancy is high, the infrastructure works so well, and you are sitting on this computer spewing your stupid thoughts.
Indeed, Christianity has definitely not done "nothing but good for the world". Had you chosen to research your chosen dogma and religion instead of pointlessly buying into it no questions asked, perhaps you wouldn't have been caught saying such an incredibly ignorant assumption.
But let's assume that the number that I put forward above, 800 million, is a ridiculous exaggeration because the Crusades and many other "religious" wars were fought solely for politics, land, resources, finance, or whatever (Which, as I will say, is a very real possibility.).
Then why can't we assume the same of these seemingly "atheistic" regimes and wars?
Moving on, I'd like to point out that the very holy text and scriptures that your religion finds it's very foundation is nothing but hearsay, exaggerated stories, stupid mistranslations, shady revisions, and gruesome delusional s**t that is riddled with contradictions. Skeptical of these claims? Glad you are.
Check out these helpful resources. Should you ever challenge the context, which I highly recommend you do, email the webmaster of the sites, or just ask any atheist heathen.

And also, your last comment is your final extravagantly idiotic comment. We have NO OBLIGATION WHATSOEVER to respect your backwards beliefs. Indeed, the anger that we show, the reason why we "hate" Christianity is actually due to the indoctrination of children worldwide, the arrogance that your religion shows towards the rest of the world, the pure horrible treatment of minorities, the denial of women's rights, not to mention the fact that I brought up earlier about christianity halting the progress of humanity.
However, I can assure you that as every rational, secular, inquisitive, skeptical, areligious, person will tell you, that I WILL respect you as a person, and I will also respect your right to say whatever the hell you want.
to who?
How do you know the bumper sticker refers to the Christian God?
If it was about Quetzalcoatl, or Ra or Thor, would you still find it offensive? Or would you be in total agreement, and indeed actively preach that those gods don't exist?
to whom
It should be "to whom"
Comment is Offensive
It's not talked about Chrisians nor hate.
They never killed people in the name of atheism.

the comparison to the amount of people that have been killed due to christian or caltholic faith make hilter look like a "saint".. i dont remember hitler, stallin or Mao touching little boys... And when the muslims masscacred 3,000 people I was in the city so sad.. then what did our elected christian president do at the time??? bomb iraq and the end result is a war on terror that has taken 48,000 iraqi citizens lives. thats 14 times the amount Osama took. look outside your book of lies for truths...
Basically, the wars were not
Basically, the wars were not simply for the sake of religions.
Two questions: How many did
Two questions:
How many did God kill?
If you believe in eternity, and why do you mind deaths?
